Storybook Saturday: A Fairy Ring

I was hoping for a magic fairy ring when Vanessa was having her tea party this past June but no such luck.  Wouldn't this have been perfect for a Midsummer Night's Dream party?

I've never seen such an explosion of mushrooms in my backyard before.  According to folklore, rings of mushrooms occur when a fairy or elf appears and in less than a week, the mushrooms will disappear without a trace. 

If I stay vigilant, I may be able to catch a glimpse of a magical creature these next few days.  I wonder if I look out of my window tonight whether I will see any fairies sitting on top of the mushrooms?  Or maybe dancing on top of the tree stump?
